This workshop will utilize the Phoenix Rising Therapeutic Yoga approach and will include hints of three of the eight Phoenix Rising themes (awareness, acceptance, choice) as a way to explore how you relate to your emotions. The yoga experience will be influenced by yin and restorative yoga, but may also include other poses as a way to experience your relationship to your emotions.
We will begin with a brief introduction of my journey in this work and a bit of education around what the work is and isn't. We will then go into an hour-long gentle yoga experience where I invite you to be open in mind and heart to what you notice in each moment and your overall experience. There's no right or wrong experiences – engage your own unique experience. This is about the process of yoga not the execution of poses. It's a time to practice compassion on yourself and your journey.
No previous yoga experience necessary – all levels welcome
After the yoga experience there will be time for quiet reflection and writing in your journal to capture whatever is important about the experience so you can take it forward into your life.
I will also give a brief demonstration of what a one-on-one session looks like and how it can be of deeper benefit to processing what is showing up for you and helping you reach any goals you might have.
