About Us
The Center for Rural Affairs is a 40 year old, national non-profit organization based in Lyons, NE (pop.851) that strives to create vibrant rural communities, social and economic justice, environmental stewardship, and genuine opportunity for all while engaging people in decisions that affect the quality of their lives and the future of their communities. The Center initially engaged decision makers through policy, and continues to do so while also investing in small and emerging businesses through REAP lending programs. Our Farm & Community team works in communities across Nebraska supporting community gardens, beginning farmers, farm to school programs, tribal and rural food systems, and community art to name a few.
