The business was started in 1953 by Henry & Marie Hill. Sunflower seeds were brought to America by the group of German-Russian people. They rode the train out to western Nebraska to work the beet fields and the sunflower seeds were one of the items they carried with them.
Henry worked at Good Year and they went on strike, which caused them to think of alternative methods of income.
In 1990 Henry & Sandra inherited the business and made it what it is today. They expanded into grocery stores and more.
