McCook Industrial Development Corporation was created on January 23, 1985 by a group of business and community minded individuals who wanted to provide a more diversified economic base for McCook and the surrounding area. Now known as the McCook Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), the mission of the organization has not changed – to facilitate the formation, retention, attraction, and expansion of businesses in McCook and the surrounding area.
MEDC is recognized statewide as a catalyst for economic growth in Southwest Nebraska. Locally, MEDC is known and respected as a leader in the arena of economic development and being proactive in addressing opportunities to stimulate the economy. The organization is committed to improving the community and region to position the area for positive growth.
