About Us

Springfield Artworks and Margie Trembley Chapeaux are both located in a historic building built by the late Peter Kiewit, a bricklayer at the time. Both an art gallery/studio as well as a millinery shop, this delightful small gallery is at 183 Main Street in Springfield, just 6 miles South of Omaha exiting at 440 off of I-80 and going 6 miles south. The owners, Glenn and Margie Trembley are both accomplished artists and designers, having studied with some of the top instructors both domestically and internationally. Glenn's expertise is in the field of fused glass art. He creates commission work for your home as well as gifts, functional glass pieces and whimsies to enhance your garden. Classes for both beginners and advanced students are also held by appointment. His glass Christmas ornaments are a popular item that delight the recipient each holiday season.

Margie is an international award winning milliner whose label is Margie Trembley Chapeaux (which means Margie Trembley hats). Her hats have been featured in Vogue, at Churchill Downs and various international publications. Two of her hats were exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City for a special exhibit in a gallery along with other Milliners Guild member's hats. Her hats were in an exhibit at the Nebraska Museum of Art and at the Melbourne International Hat Competition in Australia. In 2018 her hat won the social media viewers choice award in that competition. You can set an appointment to receive a custom fitting hat or pick one to purchase from the selection at the shop. One of her hats was the viewers choice in an online competition. She loves helping her clients find the perfect hat for their special event, Kentucky Derby or wedding. Both Winter and summer hats are available. She works by appointment with her clients giving each of them the attention they need.
