About Us

Hello! My name is Danyelle Lake and I am the founder and artisan behind Twisted Tree Apothecary. I live in small town Ogallala, NE with my two kids, our mini Aussie, Gunner and our parrot, Phoenix. We lead a crazy, busy lifestyle and general health and wellness used to take a back seat until I learned how easily it could be integrated into our lives.

I fell into the idea of holistic skincare and wellness while searching for ways to rid myself once and for all of my life long acne problems. I mean, I'm almost 30, I didn't think blemishes would be a problem at this stage in life!
I tried popular acne product after dermatologist recommended acne product, and the promised results always turned into failures.

I then discovered Rosemary Gladstar, famed herbalist, and her infinite words of herbal wisdom and interesting all natural health alternatives. I became intrigued with the notion that simple ingredients could help me fix my problems when all other methods had failed.

My growing interest eventually led me to the Herbal Academy of New England, where I enrolled online in the Introductory Herbal Course to further my education. These classes not only helped me to resolve my acne problems, but they really opened my mind to how much herbalism can be integrated into certain aspects of my life that I was lacking in. And not just for skincare, but health and wellness wise too.

This need to help others with similar problems led me to the creation of Twisted Tree Apothecary. I am now working full time as an herbal artisan, and continuing to develop and share my products!
