About Us
Freed Brothers Farms is a multigenerational farm with over 100 years in Phelps County, Nebraska. In late 2017, Jenny, daughter of the youngest Freed Brother, got the idea to grow pumpkins, gourds, ornamental corn, and sweet corn. With her father Martin’s blessing and assistance, in the spring of 2018 about an acre was dedicated to ornamental corn, sweet corn, pumpkins and gourds. In April of 2020 tomatoes and peppers were added, to contribute to a more diverse local food availability. As this specialty crop and market garden operation grows, additional produce products are in trial stages to become available such as green beans, cauliflower, broccoli, eggplant, strawberries, cucumbers and more!
