About Us

Carl’s Tavern was purchased in March of 2021 by Carl & Diane Kucera. The Kucera family worked with local contractors to help put in new electrical, plumbing, drywall, paint, flooring, walk-in coolers, hood, and furnace over the next 4 months.

In July of 2021, they opened the renovated 102 indoor and 110 outdoor seating restaurant. Carl has taken a liking to calling Carl’s Tavern the largest sports bar in the Sandhills.

Even though, the Kucera’s have never owned a restaurant before, they have together over 50 years in the food service industry with Country Catering, of Litchfield, NE.

Carl and Diane choose Carl’s Tavern as the name in memory of the late patriarch, father Carl, his own name Carl, and his son’s name Carl.

Selecting Ord as the community to open a restaurant was a no brainer. The Kucera family thanks the community for the support they have seen.
